Getting around downtown Vancouver is as easy as, well, riding a bike.
Downtown has a high concentration of all levels of biking paths/lanes, from protected bike lanes to painted bike lanes.Protected bicycle lanes are dedicated bike lanes with concrete medians and planters, bicycle parking corrals, or vehicle parking lanes that divide them from vehicle traffic. This separation increases feelings of safety and comfort, which makes cycling an attractive commuting option for those who are not used to riding their bikes regularly.
There are lots of bike parking options downtown once you get here including bike racks on city sidewalks to bike corrals along the Hornby bike lane, for example. Please, don’t lock your bike to the trees; they don’t like it!
