    Designing a public space.

For Vancouverites, the Georgia Street Plaza of the Vancouver Art Gallery has long been a public gathering place where we meet, celebrate, and express our opinions. It’s time to renew the heart of the city. A team of designers have developed a series of concepts and you are invited to view these ideas and to provide us with your feedback. Read the Vancouver Art Gallery Design Principles the DVBIA has provided.

The DVBIA represents the interests of over 8,000 businesses in the downtown area. Among those businesses are many with liquor licenses who contribute to the economic and social benefit of the community in a responsible manner so we consulted with representatives from different sectors of our membership in the preparation of the submission to the BC Liquor Policy Review.

We believe that the following recommendations are fair not only to the business interests of our stakeholders but also to the broader public interest of health, safety and well-being in the province.
