Bee hives are coming to Downtown Vancouver. No, we’re not pollen your leg. The DVBIA and the Vancouver Park Board have partnered with Hives for Humanity (H4H) to bring bee hives to Cathedral Square. Through beekeeping, otherwise known as apiculture, and mentorship programs, H4H will foster therapeutic community building and nurture local social relationships.
This new initiative brings an ecologically and socially beneficial activity to an underutilized downtown park, turning it into an enhanced and engaging green space. It also offers people in the community with the opportunity to connect with nature, as well as each other.
The park square will begin buzzing in first week of June.
