Keys to the Streets

Aug 08, 2016

Five Keys to the Street pianos have been installed in the downtown. All Keys to the Streets pianos are painted by local artists and placed in an outdoor public space where community stewards look them after for the summer months. DVBIA sponsored pianos are at the Orpheum, Lot 19, Nelson Square, Vancouver Public Library, Canada Place, Oceanic Plaza and Cathedral Square.

Support for Keys to the Streets comes from a wide range of organizations and individuals. The pianos are donated, and many are diverted from landfill by the program. Financial support helps refurbishing, tuning, maintenance, and transportation of the pianos. Local artists lend their talents to decorate the pianos with their unique designs.
