As a Vancouver resident who recently moved downtown, I’m voting Yes because one day I want Vancouver’s transit to be compared to the systems in Copenhagen, Berlin, Hong Kong or London.
Transit is already over-crowded, and we need to accommodate more people. I plan to introduce cycling to my lifestyle, and a more comprehensive network of bike lanes will be a big impetus in making that happen. Even drivers will benefit from reduced congestion and upgraded roads and bridges. We’re talking about half a percent on the sales tax! That’s a small price to pay for keeping our city healthy and beautiful.
