Hit the pavement and discover art within walking distance.
Everywhere you look in downtown Vancouver there is art – obvious art installations in the public realm, subtle art in publically accessible private spaces, embedded in the sidewalks, and even on the sides of buildings. It’s free to enjoy any time. Lace up your walking shoes and start walking. Start and end anywhere.
But if you want a path to follow, download a copy of the 2014 Downtown Artwalk or pick up the brochure at participating galleries, the Tourism Vancouver visitor info centre or from a DVBIA Downtown Ambassador (look for the blue shirts and big smiles!).
Included in the ArtWalk are the Mosaic Art Tiles
better known as Art Under Foot – cool mosaic tiles in downtown sidewalks celebrating our arts, culture, sports and history. And, the WRAP Project
– 12 unique works of art wrapping the electrical boxes along iconic Granville Street.
