Communications & Events Manager
Smart, Savvy + Associates is excited to partner with the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA) in their search for a Manager, Communications & Events. As one of Canada’s largest business improvement associations with 8000 members, DVBIA is rolling out an exciting new 5-year strategy that focuses Millennials as an audience. As the Manager, Communications & Events, you’ll have an opportunity to engage members and stakeholders in shaping Vancouver as a livable, sociable and economically vibrant, urban environment. Join the Downtown Ambassadors! The Downtown Ambassadors are the friendly connection between the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA) and downtown businesses. District Ambassadors are responsible for building relationships with the businesses in retail districts such as Robson/Alberni, Hastings West/Waterfront and Granville Street.
Daily duties include visiting your district to chat with businesses about BIA news, to share operational impacts (such as filming and festivals information), and to learn about any issues. District Ambassadors work with other Downtown Ambassadors assigned to specific areas of focus such as developing public spaces (pop-up parks, reclaimed streets, etc.), cleanliness, safety, or member services to address and answer business concerns.
Downtown Clean Team
The DVBIA Clean Team at the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association will enhance the Downtown experience and assist the program through street cleaning and basic hospitality assistance.
The focus is on street cleanliness, reliability, and being a team player
The Clean Team is expected to exceed the program objectives and assist in its development on behalf of the DVBIA.
This person must have an attention to detail and solution seeking abilities. This job is physically demanding. The ability to adapt is a must.
